Serigraphy as an agent of integration and accesibility: an experimental research on people with visual disabilities in São Paulo
Abstract
As a result of the large increase in diseases directly related to the ophthalmological disposition or even those that along its evolution impact on eye health, such as diabetes, according to the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology (2018), the increase in people with visual impairment than in 2010. was about 6.5 million, being 582 thousand blind and 6 million with low vision, in recent years showed significant increase, this directly impacts ways to ensure accessibility to daily tasks, and seek possibilities of access to social life and opportunity in the workplace. In this study, from the analysis of the recurrent need of people with disabilities, using the action research method, we sought to create another field of social and labor market performance, bringing with the technique of screen printing, their practice and dynamism. for the visually impaired. The study discusses the stages of execution of a workshop proposal and learning the graphic technique for the studied public, besides demonstrating the steps for such development. In the final part of the study it is possible to identify that based on the method and follow-up performed, the screen printing workshops bring the possibility of integration and experience people with visual impairments and also enhances the valuation and belonging of the individual.
