Definition of quality control tests for flexible plastic packaging in a mortar factory: case study at the Weber Saint-Gobain factory
Abstract
This paper has the objective to elucidate the steps and gains of implementing quality control tests for the flexible plastic packages used for mortars at Saint-Gobain. In 2017 and 2018, the company made investments in the acquisition of equipment for the assembly of a Laboratory for Packaging Tests at its main Weber mortar factory located at Jandira/SP. This paper will cover the steps for the definition of the quality control tests for each kind of package, the specification and tolerance definition, the impacts on the process line of non-conform package and the analysis’ frequency based on the suppliers’ criticality.
