Abstract

Brazil is considered one of the biggest market pulp producers of the world and the country with highest growth in eucalyptus pulp production. The objective of this essay is to discuss about the concept of “Value Generation” applied to the Pulp and Paper industry segment. Value Generation as understood concept that the final objective of the company must be to increase its own value through the maximization of its shareholders wealth. Thereunto it is presented a bibliographic revision elucidating the main topics as well as the use of financial statement evaluation and public domain information from two big companies representative of the sector. Finally, is verified that possibly better practices related to strategic management of the company may be correlated to the increase or decrease of the Value generated by “comparable” companies, studies that may expand the discussion of the topic addressed in this essay.
