Abstract

The term test form is the commercial nomenclature for a print test developed by the GATF - Graphic Arts Technical Foundation. Due to being a pioneer among the standardized printing tests composed of graphics that allow visual and instrumental evaluation of the printing conditions of a given offset printer, this term has become a jargon of the Brazilian printing industry. Many companies apply this standardized test to their equipment, but this practice, in isolation, does not guarantee the achievement of operational gains from this action. For this, effective planning is necessary, that is, with the objectives outlined for the action to be successful. Given the above, the detected problem are flaws in the application system that can compromise the achievement of desired results in the offset printing process, as well as the absence of information registration and the failure to carry out important preliminary steps to achieve the objectives. Another probable problem is the malpractice of the employees who operate the offset presses. Thus, this article describes the proposed solutions for an effective application, as well as the respective evaluation, both based on the practical application of this standardized printing test that was performed on the Heidelberg GTO 52 equipment, in five colors, with a 4 x reversing device. 1, from the offset printing workshop, from the SENAI College of Technology “Theobaldo De Nigris”. This application form of a test form is generally functional for sheetfed offset printing equipment, as well as for the treatment of qualitative and quantitative data obtained through the printing of the test form; it is also functional in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to optimize the process and at the same time provides the professional development of employees who may participate in the application of a test form in the offset machines they operate.
